Welcome to my website! I am Shariful Islam. After completing my MSc and PhD (both in Dynamical Systems) at the University of Goettingen, I worked about nine years at the same university as a Research Associate in different projects such as Human Brain Mapping, Blood Cell Tracking, R package development etc. I also worked as an IT-expert in the German government's police deparment. I was responsible for building applications in the exciting field of cyber crimes by using data analytics and machine learning techniques. Presently I am working as a Data Scientist in a research organization called DEval which is closely related to the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). I have been working here in different exciting fields such as Named Entity Recognition modeling using Machine Learning, Text Mining, Big Data Analytics etc. You will find more information about me and my work in these pages.
